Processes

Patterns - A pattern is a copy of the object to be cast and prepares the cavity for the casting process. Sand casting patterns may be wood, metal, plastic or other materials and are made to rigorous standards of construction. A pattern must last for a reasonable length of time so that it can repeatedly provide a dimensionally acceptable casting.*

Casting - Casting is the process of pouring liquid metal into a mold. The metal can be of any type. Our processes use alloys of magnesium amd aluminum. Each alloy has it's own unique chemical composition and properties. The alloys are chosen for each job on the basis of the properties needed for that casting.

NDT - Non Destruct Testing includes tensile strength, x-ray, flourescent penetrant, and hardness testing of the castings.

Finishing - Finishing is the process of removing any excess material from the casting process, if necessary and/or heat treating the castings, if needed.

Quality - Air Craft Wheels is in compliance with the quality standards of the ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System.

Shipping - Shipping is by most common carriers such as UPS, UPS Freight or YRC.
